This year’s Lent Course starts 3rd March at Ruislip Manor (on Monday evenings at 8pm),  and at Northwood on 5th March (on Wednesday evenings at 19.45pm) &  6th March (Thursday afternoon at 14.00pm). It will run for 6 weeks. The course is entitled “Jesus the Jew” and is designed to sharpen our understanding of the real Jesus, and covers such questions as: Do we really know Jesus? Do we understand his world? Do we remember that he was a Jew? Seeing Jesus more clearly can transform us, sharpen our image of Jesus, & shed glimmers of new light on the one at the heart of our faith. Topics covered include:

  • social challenges – Jesus’ views on money, wealth, marriage and divorce
  • identity issues – who the public, the disciples and Jesus himself thought he was
  • spiritual resources – how prayer worked for Jesus, and can work for us”.

Lent courses are a great tradition of the Methodist Church and I encourage every one of you to attend one group, whether you want to sit quietly listening or have your say. Please see Cathy Smith (Ruislip Manor) or Tim Clifford/ Sally Lunson (Northwood) to order a booklet (cost £3.99) in advance and for any questions.
