The weeks ahead

Mon 13th Poetry and Prose Group – Church – 2 – 4pm Our topic this week will be Movements. We are a small group and visitors would be most welcome to read or just to listen. 50p gives you enjoyment, tea and biscuits.

Tues 14th Thanksgiving Service for Mrs Stella Thaddeus – Church – 3pm Stella was a long-time member of the poetry group, a great supporter of Oasis coffee lounge and of other church activities – all are most welcome to attend.

11th/April: The River Thames Sponsored Walk is being held to raise funds to enable Samaritan’s Purse to repair 45 broken wells and dig 5 new ones, so that 20,000 people in Karamoja, Uganda will be able to access clean water from a well near their village instead of the dirty, disease-ridden water that is their only option now. Any amount you raise will be matched Pound for Pound by the UK government – increasing the impact of your generosity and enabling us to save more lives. Samaritan’s Purse is asking for a donation of £5 per adult or £10 for a family or a group of four. 100% of your donation will go towards the Clean Water for Karamoja campaign. Find out more and register today at: www.TurnOnTheTap.org.uk/thames-river-walk/

30th/April: Hillingdon Inter Faith Network invites you to meet and question candidates from the five main parties at a pre-election debate holding at the Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue at 7 for 7.30pm start.

News of the Church Family

There are many known to us who need our prayers for strength and encouragement, even though they may not be named in this newsletter. Let us continue to pray daily for each and every one.

Notices for Sunday

* Flower arrangements – the flowers in church today are to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Rachel and Fred Stokes

* Help needed – If you are not already involved in Messy Church (25th April) please could you consider giving us some help? At the February Messy Church we ran 7 crafts, a short worship session and gave a 2 course cooked meal to 36 children and their parents. It was really exciting to see the Church and Oasis so full but could really do with more hands on deck!

We plan to serve the meal this time in the Main Hall so we will need an extra team to clear the crafts and set the table in the short space of time while the worship takes place. If you can’t be there on the day perhaps you would enjoy helping with the craft preparations, there is always loads to cut out etc and this time we will need to make 36 of everything instead of the 24 we had been producing previously. Or could the Mary Berrys among us make some cakes (no nuts please) for the dessert? All offers of help to Daphne or Karen.

* Postponed groups – Neither SDDG or Open Book will run this month as Easter gets in the way! Next Open Book will be on 03/05 at 9am and next SDDG meeting will be at 8 pm on 04/05

* Reading rota – The new reading rota is on the notice board in oasis, please add your name to the week/s you may be available. Thank you.

* The senior stewards team – Always available to assist you in any queries you have! Please speak to the stewards on duty.

* Prayer book – Remember to use the prayer book in the vestibule for prayers. Please get people’s permission before putting their names in it.
